Contract: Full‑time, long‑term (with potential for permanent placement)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a fully qualified Female PE Teacher to work across a number of secondary schools in Liverpool. This position involves delivering high‑quality PE lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils while also supporting behaviour management and wellbeing.
Due to supervision duties in these areas, this post requires a female member of staff, considered a genuine occupational requirement to ensure pupil privacy, dignity, and safeguarding.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, confident, and passionate about encouraging an active, healthy lifestyle among young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum.
- Monitor behaviour, safety, and wellbeing in the girls’ changing rooms, ensuring safeguarding and privacy expectations are maintained.
- Lead practical activities, sports sessions, and fitness programmes.
- Manage classroom and outdoor behaviour using positive, consistent strategies.
- Track pupil progress and contribute to departmental planning and assessment.
- Promote teamwork, motivation, respect, and inclusion in all aspects of PE.
- Liaise with pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, and parents where required.
- Set up equipment and maintain a safe learning environment for all activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Physical Education.
- Must be female, due to supervision of the girls’ changing rooms—a genuine occupational requirement linked to privacy and safeguarding.
- Strong behaviour‑management skills suitable for a secondary environment.
- Enthusiasm for sport, physical fitness, and student wellbeing.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and rapport‑building skills.
- Able to adapt lessons to students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
