Location: Thornaby, Secondary School
Contract Type: Temporary/Ad Hoc
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable Female Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team at a thriving Catholic secondary school in Thornaby. The successful candidate will provide support to our Physical Education department, covering lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, and ensuring the smooth running of classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage PE lessons, ensuring that students are engaged and follow the planned activities.
  • Support the delivery of PE curriculum and help students participate fully in lessons.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment at all times.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and deal with any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is set up and ready for use.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, especially around safeguarding and health and safety.

Key Requirements:

  • Female (due to the nature of the role and school policy on PE classes).
  • Previous experience working with children or in a similar educational setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students and encouraging them to achieve their best.
  • Good understanding of Physical Education and the ability to supervise students during practical activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Must be committed to the ethos of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
