EYFS Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Term-time
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
About the Role
A welcoming primary school in Burnley is looking for a committed and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery team. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys supporting children through play‑based learning.
You will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with daily learning activities
- Deliver small‑group and 1:1 support
- Assist with setting up engaging indoor and outdoor learning areas
- Support children’s communication, social and emotional development
- Contribute to observations and assessments
- Promote positive behaviour and routines
- Help maintain a safe and well‑organised learning space
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working within an EYFS or early years setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Teaching & Learning (or working towards one)
- A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Good knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Strong communication skills
- A team player with a proactive and flexible attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
