EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: BS3, Bristol
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for early years and additional needs? We are working with a primary school in the BS3 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS class, which has a high number of pupils with additional needs.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who can bring patience, structure and a calm approach to support young children in their earliest stages of learning.
The Role:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum within a SEN heavy class
- Providing support to pupils with a range of additional needs, both individually and in small groups
- Helping children access learning through play based and structured activities
- Supporting communication, social skills and emotional regulation
- Assisting with daily routines, transitions and independence skills
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
- Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Contributing to observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework
We Are Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or early years setting (essential)
- Experience working with early years or primary aged children
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Confidence supporting a range of additional needs within a busy classroom
- A genuine passion for early years education and child development
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
