Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need for a successful start in education.

Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Barnoldswick
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences for children aged 3–5.
  • Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities that promote early development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to ensure every child thrives.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to assessments and reports.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (school or nursery).
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or Teaching Assistance) desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
