Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who understands the importance of early childhood education and is committed to providing outstanding learning experiences for our youngest learners.

Whether you are an experienced Early Years teacher or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT), we would love to hear from candidates who can nurture curiosity, inspire a love of learning, and help every child achieve their full potential.

Location: Nelson
Salary: £120 - £150 per day then paid in line with M-scale of the role on the 13th working week
Contract Type: Full-time MAT cover
Start Date: September 2026

The Role

As an EYFS Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
  • Create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Foster children's personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, ensuring that all children are supported to achieve their best.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to deliver high-quality provision.
  • Promote children's wellbeing, independence, and confidence.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and high expectations for all pupils.
  • Is enthusiastic, nurturing, and passionate about early years education.
  • Can create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Has strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to school life.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
