English Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Start Date: June/July 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Pay: £130–£251 per day (paid to scale from Day 1)

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-respected secondary school in Newcastle to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time role starting in June 2026. About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and effective feedback
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and a passion for English
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental success
  • Uphold high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Demonstrates a passion for delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Possesses excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Is committed to raising standards and supporting student achievement
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
