English Teacher (Temporary Contract)

Job Title: English Teacher

Location: South East England, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Length: April 15th - July 22nd

Salary: MPS/UPS rate paid as a daily rate equivalent - proof must be provided of MPS or UPS

Job Duties:

  • English Teachet to deliver engaging and comprehensive English language lessons to students
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials that align with the curriculum and educational standards
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through various assessment methods
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development in English
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and respect
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with teaching methodologies and best practises
  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students' academic progress and any concerns
  • Contribute to the overall school community through involvement in extracurricular activities or events during this temporary contract

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification specialising in English (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • A degree in English or a related field with minimum 2+ years exprience teaching if no QTS
  • Proven experience teaching English to students
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and educational standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • A Qualified English Teacher
  • Previous experience teaching English to students, preferably in a secondary school setting
  • Deep understanding of English language and literature
  • Familiarity with different teaching methodologies and approaches
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in using educational technology

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school environment with classrooms and other educational facilities
  • Normal working hours follow the school schedule, Monday to Friday typically 8:20am to 3pm 
  • May require occasional participation in extracurricular activities or events outside regular working hours
