About the Opportunity
We are delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Yeovil. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about English language and literature and committed to inspiring students to reach their full potential.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for candidates with appropriate experience.
Key Duties
- Deliver dynamic and engaging English lessons that inspire and motivate learners
- Teach a broad and balanced curriculum, covering both English Language and Literature
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support development
- Promote strong literacy skills and encourage a passion for reading and writing
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Contribute actively to the English department and wider school activities
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English
- Be committed to achieving high standards and positive student outcomes
- Exhibit effective classroom management and organisational skills
- Work well independently and as part of a collaborative team
