English Teacher (Secondary School)
Bruton, Somerset

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school community in the beautiful town of Bruton, Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire a love of English language and literature in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).

About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills. The successful candidate will bring creativity to the classroom, high expectations for student achievement, and a commitment to supporting all learners to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practice

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in English or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
