Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting an English Teacher for a secondary school seeking to appoint a motivated and dedicated teacher from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic English specialist looking to join a supportive department focused on delivering high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, planning engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

This position is suitable for:

  • Experienced English Teachers
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
  • Teachers seeking long-term or permanent opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students in achieving academic targets
  • Work collaboratively within the English department

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English within UK secondary schools
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
