Job Advert: English Teacher (Full-Time) – SEMH School
Location: Thame
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Open to ECTs/NQTs, HLTAs, and Cover Supervisors

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Teacher to join our Special Educational Needs & Mental Health (SEMH) school in Thame. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, offering a unique and rewarding opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We welcome applications from ECTs/NQTs, Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), and Cover Supervisors ready to take on a teaching role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Support and nurture students, helping them to develop confidence and resilience through learning.
  • Work closely with the SEN team to adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal growth and academic progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for teaching and the ability to engage students with SEMH needs.
  • ECT/NQT, HLTA, or Cover Supervisors looking to transition into teaching.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • A desire to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
