English Teacher – Rye, East Sussex

Location: Rye, East Sussex
Salary: £31,000 – £51,000
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated English Teacher to join a friendly and community-focused secondary school in Rye. The school prides itself on nurturing both staff and students, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will teach English across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students of all abilities to develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication. This role would suit an ECT seeking strong mentoring or an experienced teacher looking to join a close-knit and supportive team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons

  • Contributing to curriculum development within the department

  • Monitoring student progress and providing effective feedback

  • Supporting whole-school literacy initiatives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
