English Teacher
Job description
Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher who wants to inspire a love of language and literature in young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our supportive, forward-thinking English department. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality education, supporting student progress, and contributing to the wider life of the school. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, you will receive the guidance, professional development, and resources you need to succeed.
As a member of our teaching team, you will deliver engaging and effective English lessons across the Key Stages, maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement. You will plan, assess, and monitor pupil progress in line with school policies and national curriculum expectations, while creating a purposeful learning environment with displays that celebrate students’ achievements. You will contribute to the development of schemes of learning and departmental initiatives, promoting literacy, critical thinking, and creativity through an inclusive and inspiring approach. In addition, you will take on the role of Form Tutor, supporting the academic and emotional wellbeing of your tutor group, and you will be involved in whole-school professional development, events, and enrichment activities.
We are looking for someone who holds, or is working towards, Qualified Teacher Status and who brings strong subject knowledge alongside a genuine passion for English language and literature. You should demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills, show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, and work collaboratively as a positive contributor to school life.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
