About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the Gillingham area. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of literature and language, while helping students develop vital communication and analytical skills.
The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and challenging English lessons
- Teach a broad curriculum including literature, language, and writing skills
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Support students to develop confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have experience teaching English at secondary level
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
- Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Be motivated, adaptable, and a strong team player
