About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the Gillingham area. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of literature and language, while helping students develop vital communication and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and challenging English lessons
  • Teach a broad curriculum including literature, language, and writing skills
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Support students to develop confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
  • Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning
  • Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Be motivated, adaptable, and a strong team player
