We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in the beautiful town of Shaftesbury, Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives by fostering a love for English language and literature.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support student achievement
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive and experienced department

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Has a degree in English or a related subject
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
