We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school in Coventry (CV1) on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about English education and making a positive impact on young people’s learning. The school in question work in close collaboration with Teaching Personnel and general feedback from educators who have gone into this school has been overwhelmingly positive.
The Role:
-
Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable but not essential)
-
Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum for English
-
Assessing, monitoring, and supporting student progress effectively
-
Creating a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes learning and high expectations
-
Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the wider life of the school
Essential Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Recent, proven experience teaching in a UK-based secondary school
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of the UK National Curriculum for English
-
Excellent school-based references
-
Confident and effective behaviour management skills, with the ability to command a classroom and maintain high standards

Demonstrate strong classroom presence and consistency in behaviour management

Be reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Have excellent communication and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
