Rate of Pay: Minimum of £172.98 (pay to scale)
We are recruiting for a qualified English Teacher for a secondary school in Cardiff, South Wales. The school is a thriving English-medium, mixed 11–18 community secondary school and sixth form located in the western suburbs of Cardiff. They serve a diverse and growing school population, with over 900 pupils on roll and a strong commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and achievement for every learner. The site offers modern facilities to enable growth and development for both pupils and staff.

Role Responsibilities
As an English Teacher, you will:
- Create a supportive and engaging classroom environment giving pupils the confidence to excel in both their written and verbal communication.
- Deliver high quality English lessons that promotes a love of reading, writing and literacy skills.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, supporting staff in the delivery of cross-curricular projects and activities.
- Access students progress ensuring individualized support is given wherever needed.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and safe classroom setting that promotes mutual respect and encourages participation.
- Support pupil’s who may have special educational needs and implement strategies to help them succeed in English.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this English Teacher role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
- Experience in teaching English at Secondary level in the UK.
- A passion for English education and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- Excellent organisation, communication and classroom management skills.
- Strong ability to differentiate lessons effectively to meet and support the needs of learners with Additional Learning Needs.
