The Role

As an English Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in developing pupils’ literacy skills. Your enthusiasm for language and literature will support engaging reading sessions, inspiring storytelling, and imaginative writing workshops. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will help adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs, ensuring every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.

• Start Date: September 2025
• Duration: Full-time for two academic terms
• Potential for Permanency: A permanent role may be offered to the right candidate based on performance and outcomes
• Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who possesses the following:

• A genuine passion for the English language and literature
• Relevant qualifications or experience in education (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with children and colleagues
• A creative and resourceful teaching approach
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Dedication to nurturing a lifelong love of reading and writing in young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
