English Graduate – Tameside

This Academy is currently looking for recent English graduated to join the Tameside school. The successful applicant will be supporting both the teacher and students in the classroom as a general assistant. You will be placed within a department to support as a mentor for students who specifically need more support with English, this school is known to be above average English and Maths grades compared to schools in the area. Therefore, it will be more on a smaller group basis and sometimes even 1:1 tutoring. Prior experience would be desirable, yet not necessarily essential.

All English graduates are encouraged to apply for this role as it will be beginning from the start of the academic year. The successful applicant will be staring this side of the summer holidays with the plan to transition into the new academic year with the school. Therefore, this role will be a more hands on approach towards the first steps of teaching. Key aspects of the role:

  • Any experience of mentoring tutoring or supporting young people is highly desirable.
  • Opportunity to gain more experience and assist at a supportive secondary school in the heart of Manchester
  • Pay will be dependent on experience but will range between GBP375 - GBP 475 (per week), solely dependent upon confirmed hours and experience in this area.
  • Graduate English TA required on a full time basis from September 2021 at the latest (possibly the start of July)

The successful applicant will be given details of specific students who may require more assistance and mentoring compared to there peers. You will also be tasked with providing small group interventions, whilst working alongside these identified students. Supporting with the relevant materials in relation to the subjects

This school is situated close to the south of Tameside very easily accessible from the city centre Metrolink. Along with easy access from surrounding areas. The school is set in very pleasant surroundings boasting fantastic facilities within the local area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
