Job description

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our supportive and forward-thinking team at our primary school. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment that is committed to professional development and staff wellbeing.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Location: Nelson
Salary: MPS (ECT) after AWR is addressed
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Full-time and long-term

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has achieved or is on track to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and learning
  • Has strong subject knowledge
  • Is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Shows excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is eager to learn, develop and contribute to school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
