DT Teacher
Location: South & Central Manchester
Pay: £750 – £950 per week
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Supply) – Long-term options available

Are you a skilled and innovative Design & Technology Teacher looking to inspire students through hands‑on learning, creativity, and problem‑solving? Teaching Personnel are recruiting for secondary schools across South and Central Manchester seeking a DT Teacher for a supply position. This is a fantastic opportunity to motivate students, develop their practical and technical skills, and deliver engaging DT lessons while enjoying the flexibility of supply teaching with a trusted education recruitment agency.

As a supply teacher, you’ll focus on teaching and supporting student progress without the additional responsibilities of a permanent role. You’ll be expected to quickly adapt to different school settings and deliver high‑quality DT lessons—whether specialising in Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, Engineering, or Food Technology.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering practical and theoretical elements.
  • Encourage creativity, problem‑solving, and independent thinking within a safe workshop or classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the school and adhere to all policies and safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the DT curriculum.
  • Previous experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and support students of all abilities.
