Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher or ECT to join one of our welcoming secondary schools in Rochdale for a one-year maternity cover starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 & 4 within a supportive and well-resourced department. The school has a strong commitment to the performing arts and encourages creativity, confidence, and student engagement.

The Role:

  • Teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
  • Supporting school productions and extracurricular activities
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive department
  • Full-time position
  • One-year maternity cover

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing teacher training (ECTs welcome)
  • Passion for Drama and performing arts education
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people
  • Commitment to raising achievement and student participation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
