Performing Arts Teacher
Location: Swansea
Salary: £864.80 per week
Hours: 8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday

About The Role
We are seeking a positive, outgoing, and imaginative drama teacher for the Swansea area. This is a full-time flexible working position that will encompass teaching from Year 7 to Year 11. The position is within one of our top-rated Secondary Schools where Performing Arts are highly valued and our annual school productions are popular with both students and parents. A successful candidate will have infectious enthusiasm and passion for their subject and will be confident in helping students progress whilst promoting inclusivity and enjoyment in all aspects of the subject.
This position will include various day to day tasks including, lesson planning (following Welsh Curriculum), directing productions (selecting scripts, holding auditions, and guiding students in their performances), fostering high energy creativity (encourage students to explore their creativity through theatre games and collaborative projects), providing feedback (constructive to help students improve), and administrative duties (coordinating schedules for rehearsals and performances, communicating with parents and participating in various school events).
Requirements
We welcome those with a passion for performing arts, if you participate in drama clubs or anything performing arts-based activities outside of teaching that is advantageous.
Applicants will need (or be able to obtain during registration process)
- Enhanced DBS (children only) on the update service.
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
- Safeguarding (children and young people).
- 24 months of references (factual, characteristics and for childcare).
- NQT or FQT qualifications.
- Degree or PGCE in Drama.
- Experience teaching Drama at secondary level in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
