We’re Hiring: Secondary Design & Technology Teachers in Bristol
Start Date: ASAP
Full-Time / Part-Time | Flexible Supply with Permanent Opportunities | Key Stage 3 & 4
Specialisms: Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, Food Technology, Textiles (all welcome)

We’re looking for adaptable and enthusiastic Secondary Design & Technology Teachers in Bristol, across all DT specialisms, who are seeking flexible supply work with the opportunity to progress into long-term or permanent roles.
✅ The Role:

Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4
-
Teach within your specialist area(s), with flexibility to support general DT
-
Encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills
-
Support students through the design, make, and evaluate process
-
Maintain a safe working environment in workshops and classrooms
-
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
-
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
-
Work collaboratively with DT departments, technicians, and support staff
-
Gain experience across a variety of school settings through supply placements

Qualified Design & Technology Teachers (QTS or equivalent)

ECTs/NQTs looking to gain experience across different schools

✅ Experience & Requirements:
-
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or pending QTS
-
Degree or strong subject knowledge in a DT-related specialism
-
Experience teaching DT at KS3 and/or KS4 (including during training)
-
Strong classroom and workshop management skills
-
Confidence maintaining health and safety standards
-
Ability to adapt quickly to new school environments
-
Commitment to inclusive, high-quality education

Enhanced Child-Only DBS (or willingness to apply)
