Design & Technology Teacher – Secondary

Start Date: September
Contract: Full‑time, long‑term (with potential for a permanent role)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Location: Weymouth, Dorset

A forward‑thinking and welcoming secondary school in Weymouth is seeking a passionate Design & Technology Teacher to join their team from September. This role is ideal for a creative and committed teacher who enjoys inspiring students through hands‑on, practical learning.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering, in line with your expertise
  • Promoting creative and independent thinking alongside high academic standards
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the D&T curriculum within an established department
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of the Design & Technology curriculum
  • The ability to engage, motivate, and challenge pupils of all abilities
  • A creative, practical approach to teaching and learning
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
