The Opportunity

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to develop technical knowledge, creativity and independence. You will have the opportunity to inspire young people through practical learning and contribute to a department that is committed to student progress and achievement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4.

  • Planning and delivering creative lessons across areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering or Graphics.

  • Encouraging students to develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on learning.

  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, teamwork and independent thinking.

  • Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback to support improvement.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop the curriculum and contribute to wider school initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school environment.

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, practical lessons.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • A commitment to supporting students of all abilities to achieve success.

  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
