Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools
Location: Gateshead and surrounding areas
Pay: £92.63–£110 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
Contract: Flexible (Full-time & Part-time opportunities available)
Start Date: September 2026

Teaching Personnel is recruiting confident, enthusiastic, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Gateshead and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, or anyone with experience working with young people who is passionate about making a difference.
The Role
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Supporting students with their work and encouraging participation
- Ensuring lessons run smoothly whilst maintaining high expectations
- Building positive relationships with students and school staff
- Following school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in schools or with children and young people (education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, tutoring, childcare, or similar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively
- A flexible, adaptable, and professional approach
- A genuine interest in supporting young people's education
- A degree is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
