Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about working with young people? Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Taunton area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a flexible and rewarding role.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with their work and encouraging participation
  • Ensuring school policies are followed at all times
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

No planning or marking is required—your focus will be on classroom management and student engagement.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Confident leading a classroom and communicating clearly with students
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to think on their feet
  • Passionate about education and supporting young people
  • Able to build positive relationships quickly
  • Reliable, professional, and well-organised

Previous experience working with young people (in schools, coaching, youth work, or similar settings) is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
