Location: Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield & Worksop
Role: Cover Supervisor
Salary: 100 - 120 (depending on experience)
Contract: Flexible / Temporary / Long-term opportunities
Start Date: September 2026
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or education professional looking for flexible work across local schools? Or are you a graduate considering a career in teaching?
We are looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support schools across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield and Worksop.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment when teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared work and ensure students remain focused and engaged with their learning.
The role
Depending on the school and placement, your responsibilities may include:

Supervising classes in the absence of the usual teacher

Delivering lessons using work and resources provided by the school
-
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
-
Supporting students with their learning and encouraging good engagement
-
Following school policies and procedures
-
Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate

Able to follow lesson plans and school instructions effectively

Previous experience working in a school or education setting is beneficial, but we also welcome applications from graduates and candidates with relevant transferable experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
