About the Role

Teaching Personnel Liverpool is currently recruiting reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work across a range of mainstream secondary schools in Liverpool from September 2026.

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, making this an ideal role for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals seeking flexible work within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. These roles can often lead to long-term placements and potential permanent opportunities within partner schools.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students in completing assigned work
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
  • Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school standards at all times
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff

About You

We are seeking individuals who are confident, adaptable, and passionate about working with young people.

You should have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, tutoring, or youth setting OR a strong desire to enter education
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading a classroom independently
  • A calm, professional and resilient approach
  • Strong organisational skills and reliability
  • The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A degree or relevant qualification
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or Tutor
  • Interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education
