Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for confident and adaptable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors across secondary schools in Plymouth. This role is ideal for graduates considering teaching, experienced support staff looking for a step up, or anyone passionate about supporting young people in education.

About the role:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policy and ensure pupils remain on task.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on class progress and behaviour.
  • Support students with learning when needed and encourage a positive classroom environment.
  • Work across a range of subjects, offering variety and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant classroom experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Confidence managing groups of students and using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.

Location: Plymouth & surrounding areas
Salary: £100–£110 per day (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
