Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a History Teacher for a high performing school in the Stockport area.

The salary for this position will be paid in line with your Teacher pay scale (£30,000 to £46,525 per year).

Our client looking school is looking for an experienced History Teacher or recent History Graduate to support the Humanities department in teaching History to both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils. You will be responsible for motivating and encouraging the development of the pupils in their history lessons. Providing interesting resources and creating beneficial learning plans will be central to your position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing engaging History lessons to the students
  • Setting and marking homework in a timely manner
  • Monitoring the progress of pupils and giving constructive feedback
  • Ensure that all pupils are in a safe environment.

The school is located in Hazel Grove, in Stockport. It is a mixed school, providing education to children between the ages of 11 and 16. Currently, the school holds an Ofsted rating of 2, meaning the school is considered to be ‘good’. The percentage of students who are eligible for free school meals is far below the national average and the percentage of students who achieve a grade 5 or above in both Maths and English is higher than both the regional and national average.

For this role, it is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced child work force DBS check, once this check has been completed, you will also be required to put this onto the update service to ensure that it remains active. You will also be required to provide a minimum of two employment-based references.
