Unqualified Teacher – Secondary School (Cover Supervisor)

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)
Pay: £120 per day
Flexible work available – start ASAP

We’re recruiting Unqualified Teachers (Cover Supervisors) to work in secondary schools across RCT. This is an excellent opportunity if you’re considering a career in teaching, looking to gain classroom experience, or want flexible, rewarding work within education.

Many of our Cover Supervisors go on to secure long‑term roles or progress into formal teacher training.


The Role

As an Unqualified Teacher, you’ll step into the classroom when the teacher is absent and deliver pre-prepared lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Your focus will be on maintaining a positive, productive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering set lesson plans across a range of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Creating a calm, focused learning atmosphere
  • Taking registers and following safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting students to stay on task
  • Providing feedback to staff after each lesson

  • Able to work flexibly across different RCT schools

A driving licence is beneficial, but not essential.


Requirements

Before starting, you’ll need:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Two professional references from the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
