Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. We have a range of flexible opportunities available, making this an excellent role for experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates considering a career in teaching, or education professionals looking to gain further classroom experience.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work provided. You will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the smooth running of the school day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising students across a range of secondary subjects and year groups
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
  • Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff where required

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • The confidence to lead a classroom independently
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach
  • A genuine interest in supporting students' education and development
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or similar is desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
