Are you looking to gain valuable experience in education? Do you have excellent communication and classroom management skills? We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Pontypool area.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, or individuals with experience working with young people who are passionate about education.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, maintain classroom discipline, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across a variety of subjects.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students in completing assigned work.
- Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence managing groups of students.
- Adaptable, resilient, and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
