Cover Supervisor
Job description
We are currently working with a number of secondary schools across North Manchester who are looking to appoint enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support them on a full‑time and part‑time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, education students or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments such as university, training courses or family life.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short‑term absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and follow the work set. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide support where appropriate and maintain a positive learning environment. Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential, as many schools are open to candidates who have strong communication skills, confidence in leading groups and a genuine interest in education.
This role offers flexible day‑to‑day, short‑term and long‑term opportunities, giving you control over when and where you work. It is an excellent way to gain hands‑on classroom experience, particularly if you are considering a career in teaching. We provide ongoing CPD and training to help you develop your classroom management skills and understanding of school systems, supporting your professional growth from day one.
If you are based in North Manchester or surrounding areas and are seeking rewarding, flexible work in secondary schools, this Cover Supervisor role could be the perfect fit. A DBS on the update service is required (or willingness to apply), and we welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience from education, youth work, coaching or similar backgrounds. Apply now to take your first or next step into the classroom and start building valuable education experience.
