Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Northampton–  Feb 2026 Start

Are you confident, adaptable, and looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting?
A welcoming and well-established secondary school in Northampton is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to start from Feb 2026.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, unqualified teachers, or experienced education support staff who are passionate about working with young people and developing their skills within education. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring learning continues smoothly in the absence of teaching staff.

The role will involve:

  • Supervising pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students to stay engaged and on task
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with pupils and school staff

Who we’re looking for:

  • Confident and professional individuals with strong communication skills
  • A calm and organised approach to classroom management
  • An interest in education or a future teaching career
  • Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Graduates and unqualified teachers are encouraged to apply

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, often seen as a stepping stone into teacher training or long-term education roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
