Day-to-Day Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
ASAP Start

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking confident, flexible, and reliable Day-to-Day Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across North Manchester, Oldham, and Rochdale. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in education while enjoying a flexible working schedule.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be on standby in the mornings or available on-call to support local schools. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and supported in a positive learning environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe, productive learning environment

  • Supporting students with their learning and responding to questions where appropriate

  • Liaising with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning

  • Providing feedback to schools on lesson coverage and student engagement

  • Assisting with general school duties when required

  • Maintaining clear communication with both placement schools and Teaching Personnel

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in any subject

  • Experience working with young people (education-based experience is desirable)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour

  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for education and supporting student progress

Applicants must live in, or be able to commute to, North Manchester, Oldham, or Rochdale.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
