Cover Supervisor – Manchester – September Start

Are you confident, adaptable, and interested in working in education? Teaching Personnel is recruiting Cover Supervisors across Manchester for full-time and flexible roles starting this September.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or support staff looking to take on more responsibility. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, delivering pre-set work and ensuring that learning continues smoothly.

You’ll work across different departments and year groups, gaining insight into school life and classroom management. This experience is ideal for those hoping to secure a place on a PGCE or School Direct course in future.

The role includes:

  • Covering lessons using resources provided by the absent teacher

  • Managing pupil behaviour and maintaining classroom expectations

  • Reporting back on lesson outcomes to heads of department

  • Ensuring a calm, purposeful learning environment

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A degree (or relevant school-based experience)

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • A confident and professional attitude

  • Experience working with young people (in any setting)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
