A large, diverse, and well-organised Manchester secondary school is looking for a Cover Supervisor to provide high-quality lesson delivery in the absence of teaching staff. You’ll step into classrooms across a range of subjects, providing structure and maintaining high expectations while supporting student learning.

This role is ideal for those looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or educational support.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supervise pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain on task and complete assigned work.

• Deliver basic instruction and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy.

• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil behaviour, engagement, and progress.

• Help with administrative tasks, resource preparation, and invigilation during exams.

• Build relationships with staff and pupils, becoming a reliable and valued member of the school community.

Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged children (e.g., youth work, coaching, mentoring).

• Strong presence, confidence, and the ability to manage classroom dynamics.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

• A flexible and proactive approach – no two days are the same!

• Ideal for recent graduates or aspiring teachers.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
