Cover Supervisor

Location: Liverpool Secondary Schools | Full-Time or Part-Time

We are recruiting on behalf of respected secondary schools across Liverpool for reliable and confident Cover Supervisors. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with UK-based school or youth activity experience to support students’ learning, gain valuable classroom exposure, and become part of welcoming and supportive school communities.

We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors, qualified teachers exploring flexible options, and individuals seeking to progress their careers within UK education. This role offers flexibility, professional development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Liverpool schools.

 

The Role

  • Supervise lessons across a range of subjects using pre-prepared materials
  • Keep students focused, engaged, and on task during teacher absence
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to teaching staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Gain practical classroom experience while supporting student progress and wellbeing

 

This Role Is Ideal For:

  • Experienced Cover Supervisors seeking opportunities across Liverpool
  • Qualified Teachers looking for flexible or alternative classroom roles
  • PGCE or teacher training applicants wanting further school experience
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) building confidence and classroom management skills
  • Individuals with UK-based experience in youth work, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or school support roles

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people in the UK (essential), for example in schools, clubs, sports coaching, or youth organisations
  • A degree or strong academic background
  • Confidence in independently leading and managing a classroom
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to support the wider school community
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
