Cover Supervisor – Bradford Secondary Schools

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting confident, enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Bradford and West Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain further experience within a secondary school environment. We have a range of day-to-day, short-term and longer-term opportunities available, offering flexibility around your availability.

‍ The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring lessons run smoothly in the absence of the class teacher. You will be provided with lesson plans and resources and will be expected to supervise students and support them in completing their work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain focused on their learning
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Supporting students with their work where appropriate
• Following school policies and maintaining high expectations of behaviour
• Registering students and providing feedback to teaching staff when required
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and school staff
• Adapting confidently to different classes, subjects and school environments

✅ We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with young people or within a UK secondary school
• Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills
• The confidence to lead a classroom independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude
• A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
