Cover Supervisor – Mainstream Secondary School

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Leamington Spa, starting ASAP.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, graduate or education professional looking to develop their experience within a secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes in the absence of the usual classroom teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain engaged with their work.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour confidently and professionally.
• Support students with their learning and provide guidance where appropriate.
• Follow school policies and procedures at all times.
• Work across different subjects and year groups.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.

‍ We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people.
• Ideally have experience within a school or education setting.
• Be confident managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Be patient, approachable, professional and reliable.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to use their initiative and work independently.
• Be confident supporting students across KS3 and KS4.
• Be willing to commit to a full-time role.
• Be able to travel to Leamington Spa by car or public transport.
• Hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Any teaching, education, childcare or classroom-based qualifications would be beneficial.
