Cover Supervisor

Are you a recent graduate looking to pursue a career in the education sector? Or are you looking for a new career and want to give education a try? An exciting opportunity has arisen for cover supervisor work in the Durham City Centre area from after October half-term 2023 (or sooner subject to completion of vetting checks).

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a cover supervisor for a secondary school rated Outstanding by Ofsted in the Durham City Centre area. Whether you are looking for flexible, day-to-day cover supervision, getting experience in a diverse range of schools in the area, or looking for the regularity and routine of a longer-term placement in one school, we currently have a number of roles which would suit both.

This role would suit somebody that is looking for flexibility and is versatile. The role of a cover supervisor would provide you with experience of providing full-class support, without the requirement to complete additional planning, marking, or assessment work.

Job specifications:

  • Required from after October half-term 2023 (or sooner)
  • Competitive daily pay rates starting from £80 per day (potentially higher dependent on experience)
  • Supporting pupils aged 11-16 in a variety of lessons

The incoming cover supervisor will be providing classroom support across Key Stage 3 and GCSE with a level of dynamism and adaptability to be able to assist in a variety of different lessons.

Candidate requirements:

  • Graduate-level qualification
  • A Child Only DBS will be required (we can help you apply)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
  • Hardworking and reliable
  • No formal teaching qualifications required
