Cover Supervisor

Location: Chorley

Contract Type: Full-time

Salary: £100 per day

Start Date: April 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a confident, organised, and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a friendly and thriving school. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are looking to gain experience in an educational setting. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in the absence of their classroom teacher
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure a positive, safe and productive learning environment
  • Support students with tasks and encourage participation
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on class progress
  • Assist with other duties across the school where required

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in managing groups of students
  • A calm, approachable manner
  • Good organisational skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Previous experience in education or working with young people (desirable but not essential)
  • A degree or equivalent qualification (preferred but not required)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
