Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work across a variety of secondary schools in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people to gain valuable classroom experience as a cover supervisor.
As a cover supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting schools by supervising lessons in the absence of the class teacher. This cover supervisor position is ideal for those looking to build confidence in the classroom and develop experience within education.
The Role
In this cover supervisor role, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes and ensuring students remain engaged with the work set by teaching staff. As a cover supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and maintain a focused and positive learning environment.
The successful cover supervisor will ensure that students stay on task, follow school policies, and complete the work provided. You will also provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson, making the cover supervisor role an important part of the school day.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a confident and reliable cover supervisor who:
- Holds a UK-recognised degree or has relevant experience working with young people
- Is confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
- Has strong communication and organisational skills
- Is adaptable, professional, and proactive
- Has a genuine interest in working within education
Previous experience as a cover supervisor, tutor, coach, or youth worker is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
