Job description

A welcoming and well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their team on an ad-hoc basis from April.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work within education, whether they are experienced Cover Supervisors, aspiring teachers, or graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. Work will be set in advance, and the Cover Supervisor will be expected to manage classroom behaviour, ensure students remain on task, and provide a positive and productive learning environment.

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable but not essential)

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills

  • Is confident leading a class across a range of subjects

  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Is flexible, reliable and professional

This ad-hoc role offers flexibility and would suit individuals looking to work around other commitments while gaining experience in a supportive secondary school setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
