Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience, adaptability and confidence to thrive in a dynamic secondary school environment?
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor to work within an SEMH unit based in a mainstream secondary school in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students who may require additional support to access education successfully.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-set lessons across the SEMH provision in the absence of teaching staff
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive and consistent strategies
- Support students with SEMH needs to stay engaged and on task
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, ideally within SEMH, SEN or alternative provisions
- Is calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is adaptable and able to think on their feet

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
