Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Billingham, providing classroom support and supervising lessons in the absence of the class teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to classes of secondary students
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and manage behaviour effectively
  • Support students with their learning where required
  • Follow school policies and ensure the smooth running of each lesson
  • Report back to the relevant teacher or department at the end of the day

About You

  • Confident in leading groups of young people
  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable
  • Good communication and behaviour‑management skills
  • Experience working with young people is desirable, but not essential
  • Graduates and those considering a career in teaching are encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
